Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care
Location: Peoria, IL
Schedule: Two (2) 3rd-Shift Full-Time Positions, One (1) 1st-Shift Full-Time Position
PRN Option: One (1) PRN role – 24 hours/week
Position Summary
The Critical Care RN provides exceptional, compassionate care to critically ill patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. This role serves as a patient advocate while supervising other caregivers and collaborating closely with the care team. The RN applies strong critical-thinking skills to support positive clinical outcomes, ensures patient education, and participates in discharge planning.
Salary & Bonuses
- Hourly Rate: $32.61 – $49.28/hour (based on years of licensure)
- Shift Differentials:
- 3rd Shift: $4.00/hour
- Weekend: $3.25/hour
- Sign-On Bonus:
- $15,000 for new graduates
- $20,000 for candidates with 1 years of experience
Experience Requirements
- Preferred: 1 year of ICU/Critical Care RN experience
- New Graduates: Considered on a case-by-case basis
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State Board of Nursing (Illinois or Michigan)
- Certifications:
- Current American Heart Association BLS (must be active prior to start date)
- Additional Requirements:
- Must pass full-panel drug screening (Drug-Free Campus)
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: BSN
- Experience: Experience as an RN in a rehab care setting
- Skills: Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records and Microsoft applications
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients following established nursing processes.
- Serve as a patient advocate at all times.
- Supervise nursing care delivered by other team members.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized care plans.
- Use critical-thinking skills to promote optimal clinical outcomes.
- Conduct patient education and participate in discharge planning.
- Float to Medical-Surgical units as needed.
