This an excellent opportunity for both new graduate and experienced RNs to learn and grow.
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical ICU care to join our dynamic healthcare team. You’ll care for a diverse mix of medical and surgical patients, including those with transient ischemic attacks/strokes, pancreatitis, gastrointestinal disorders/bleeds, wounds needing debridement, detox/alcohol withdrawal, pneumonia, and post-op patients recovering from laparoscopic procedures and cystoscopy. The nurse will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and adhering to infection control protocols. Candidates with experience in diverse specialties such as telemetry, trauma medicine, post-acute care, and geriatrics are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and catheter care.
- Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, tube feeding management, ostomy care, and sterile processing.
- Manage airway devices and ventilators; assist with respiratory therapies as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians during diagnostic evaluations like cardiac catheterization, spinal taps, or sonography procedures.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Monitor patients’ physiological status and respond promptly to changes in condition or acute pain episodes.
- Provide specialized care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Participate in discharge planning, case management, and health coaching to promote recovery and long-term wellness.
- Maintain strict infection control standards including aseptic techniques during procedures like phlebotomy or specimen collection.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA standards and NCQA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Must have more than 2 years critical care experience
- Current valid Nebraska Registered Nurse (RN) License, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Proven experience in medical-surgical units; critical care experience highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- assistance or ostomy care if applicable.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient assessment and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques across various clinical settings including outpatient clinics or post-acute care facilities.

Pay: $38.00 - $51.70 per hour
