Duties
- Perform specialized massage therapies including deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy to manage pain and improve comfort for hospice patients
- Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans based on individual health conditions and preferences
- Provide compassionate patient service, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect throughout each session
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate massage therapy into overall patient care plans
- Maintain detailed documentation of treatments, patient responses, and progress notes in accordance with medical terminology and healthcare standards
- Educate patients and family members on relaxation techniques and self-care practices as appropriate
- Adhere to occupational health guidelines and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff
Qualifications
- Valid massage therapy license with certification in deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy preferred
- Experience with pain management techniques and physiology knowledge relevant to hospice care
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and physiology
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to assess individual needs through patient assessment methods
- Prior experience in medical settings or med spas is highly desirable
- Knowledge of occupational health standards and safety procedures in healthcare environments
