The Wound Care Specialist provides clinical support and consultation on complex wounds, pressure ulcers, ostomies, fistulas, and incontinence, ensuring evidence-based practices and quality outcomes.
- Develops and implements educational programs for patients, staff, and providers, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Requires RN licensure, BLS, and preferably specialty wound care certification; minimum two years acute care experience with wound management.
- Must demonstrate strong communication, teaching, problem-solving skills, and ability to handle emergency situations.
- Works under supervision of wound care leadership in a fast-paced environment with exposure to infectious risks and physical demands including patient transfers.
