What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - PACU - Per Diem position at Health Care Administrators Association® (HCAA)?
Role: The Registered Nurse PACU provides direct patient care in a perioperative environment, addressing physical, psychosocial, and general needs of patients from infants to geriatrics.
Responsibilities: Conducts pre- and post-procedure assessments, develops individualized care plans, manages pain and medication dosing, monitors patient status, and communicates with surgical and anesthesia teams. Maintains equipment, participates in performance improvement, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires RN license, BLS, ACLS, and graduation from an accredited RN program. Preferably has 1 year experience in acute care PACU, with proficiency in pain management and patient assessment. Ability to follow policies and coordinate care effectively.
Key Duties: Perform bedside reports, head-to-toe assessments, evaluate care effectiveness, educate patients and families, and maintain regulatory compliance.
