The Health and Safety Council (HASC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with more than 35 years of service to the petrochemical and manufacturing industries. Headquartered along the Houston Ship Channel, we provide training, occupational medicine, and innovative workforce solutions to companies around the world.
HASC is seeking a Marketing Specialist to own and elevate our social media presence. Someone who knows what good content looks like, understands how to connect with an audience, and isn’t afraid to get out from behind the screen. You’ll plan and execute the social media content calendar, bring our brand to life at major industry events, and help translate big ideas into campaigns that communicate effectively.
Essential Job Responsibilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, talk, and hear. The role frequently involves standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This role is primarily on-site at HASC headquarters and includes a mix of in-office work and on-site event support. Some duties may take place outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, particularly for events. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The employee may be required to be on-call during emergencies, including but not limited to natural disasters or severe weather events.

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Own and execute the social media content calendar by planning, scheduling, and publishing for multiple accounts across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms as needed
- Create engaging posts that align with brand tone, campaign goals, and audience interests
- Design simple, eye-catching visuals using Adobe Express for everyday needs like office closures, national observances, or timely updates; partner with HASC’s internal design team on major campaigns and branded assets
- Capture and repurpose photos, short videos, and testimonials from events, site visits, or behind-the-scenes moments to create static posts, video clips, polls, and other engaging content formats
- Stay on top of social media trends, competitor content, and industry conversations to propose new ideas, identify brand opportunities, and suggest events or campaigns that enhance visibility
- Promote upcoming events through social media; support pre-event planning and assist with on-site organization, like setup, live coverage, and breakdown
- Attend trade shows, all HASC-hosted events, and community programs to represent the brand, gather content, and bring back insights to inform future social media strategy
- Serve as a brand liaison to internal teams and satellite sites to ensure consistent storytelling and help spotlight teams, services, and successes through HASC’s corporate channels
- Transform long-form content (like blogs or white papers) into scroll-worthy social slides, carousels, or teaser clips that spark interest and engagement
- Deliver monthly analytics reports with key takeaways, performance insights, and growth recommendations using Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, HubSpot, etc.
- Collaborate with leadership to draft and refine executive LinkedIn posts that elevate brand voice and industry thought leadership
- Handle own administrative needs related to travel, expenses, ad spend, vendor coordination, internal requests, etc.
- Assist with campaign asset development as needed – including but not limited to newsletters, flyers, posters, brochures, etc.
- Propose digital strategies and paid advertising campaigns, and execute upon approval
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience creating and publishing social content for a business or brand
- Strong content creation skills, including photography, video, copywriting, and editing
- Able to work independently while also collaborating closely with internal teams, vendors, customers, industry partners, satellite sites, and more
- Comfortable engaging with the public and internal stakeholders; collaborative, professional, and people-focused
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends for events as needed (approximately 30% travel annually)
- Valid and current driver’s license
- Experience creating B2B social media content, especially in the manufacturing, safety, or energy industries
- Proficient in tools like Adobe Express, HubSpot, Meta Business Suite, Microsoft 365, Asana, etc.
- Detail-oriented and proactive, with effective communication skills and the ability to balance creative execution with fast-paced deadlines
- Ability to interpret social media performance data and connect insights to strategic decisions
- Comfortable collaborating with executives and turning their ideas into brand-aligned, audience-facing content
