Aligned with our expanded data strategy, this new position leads data systems oversight, reporting infrastructure, data governance, and analytics that drive program and organizational decision-making. This role will help us deepen our learning culture, improve performance dashboards, and expand our understanding of member outcomes.

Position Summary

The Data Manager leads HAAM’s organization-wide data systems, analytics, and reporting strategy—transforming information into actionable insight that strengthens healthcare access, equity, and impact for Austin’s music community. This role oversees data collection, integrity, and visualization across multiple programs, ensuring that HAAM’s decisions are grounded in accurate, ethical, and community-informed evidence.

The Data Manager builds and maintains the infrastructure for performance measurement and continuous learning, collaborates across departments to enhance data literacy, and drives innovations in data systems and evaluation. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that HAAM’s data tells a clear, equitable, and credible story of impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy, Management, and Reporting (35%)
  • Lead Member Services data systems, analytics, and reporting efforts
  • Oversee data integrity, governance, and integration across platforms (e.g., RedCap, ZenDesk, and Tableau).
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and analytic tools that track outcomes, health access indicators, and equity measures.
  • Manage data workflows, documentation, and access protocols to ensure transparency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Produce recurring and ad hoc reports for internal leadership, programs, funders, and community stakeholders.
  • Analysis, Insight Generation, and Evaluation (30%)
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to measure program effectiveness, population trends, and equity outcomes.
  • Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership and program teams.
  • Support logic model development, KPIs, and evaluation frameworks aligned with HAAM’s strategic plan and funder requirements.
  • Provide data and visualization for grant applications, board materials, and community reporting.
  • Collaboration, Capacity Building, and Leadership (25%)
  • Serve as HAAM’s primary data liaison for funders, healthcare partners, and evaluation collaboratives.
  • Lead training and coaching to increase data literacy and dashboard utilization among staff.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Strategy Office, Sr Director of Programs and other senior leadership to identify key metrics, define success indicators, and build systems to monitor them.
  • Mentor and support cross-departmental staff engaged in data collection or reporting.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement (10%)
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and analytic methods to strengthen efficiency and insight generation.
  • Stay current on best practices in data equity, nonprofit analytics, and healthcare evaluation.
  • Design sustainable solutions for emerging organizational data challenges and participate in strategic planning.
  • Develop and maintain operational infrastructure to support Member Services team in efficient program administration

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in data science, public health, social sciences, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in data analysis, evaluation, or performance measurement—preferably in a healthcare, public health, or nonprofit context.
  • Demonstrated experience building dashboards and reports in Tableau or equivalent tools.
  • Strong proficiency in data management systems such as RedCap or other CRM/evaluation databases.
  • Experience managing data governance and training teams on data practices.
