Direct Support Professional

Job Overview

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) at HealingBridge LLC plays a frontline role in delivering person-centered care to individuals with developmental, intellectual, and/or behavioral health needs. This role bridges compassionate support with operational excellence helping individuals build independence, dignity, and quality of life while ensuring safety, compliance, and continuity of care.

Duties

• Provide direct, hands-on support with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, meal prep, and community integration
• Implement individualized service plans (ISPs) and behavior support strategies as designed by the clinical team
• Foster independence, self-advocacy, and skill development aligned with each individual’s goals
• Ensure a safe, structured, and supportive environment at all times
• Accurately document services, incidents, and progress in accordance with company and regulatory standards
• Administer or assist with medication per training and policy (where applicable)
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, clinicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct no shortcuts, no gray areas
• Participate in required training, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives

Experience

• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is essential
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
• individuals with developmental disabilities in long-term care settings
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (as applicable)
• Ability to pass background checks and required clearances
• Physical ability to assist individuals as needed (standing, lifting, transfers)
• Strong interpersonal skills with a calm, respectful, and solution-oriented mindset

Pay: From $14.50 per hour
