We collaborate to provide high-quality music therapy services to people of all ages and abilities across 30 counties in greater Minnesota. We partner with community organizations, hospitals, and hospices to meet each person exactly where they are, both physically and emotionally, using evidence-based approaches to foster connection, growth, and healing.
Role & Responsibilities
Deliver clinical services: Provide 28 clinical hours per week as part of a full-time schedule, dedicated entirely to hospice and hospital patients in the New Ulm and Mankato region.
Support medical and end-of-life care: Utilize music interventions to reduce pain, ease anxiety, support life review, and provide emotional and spiritual comfort for patients and their families.
Collaborate with care teams: Work closely with interdisciplinary medical and hospice staff to integrate music therapy into holistic patient care plans.
Utilize clinical musicianship: Apply strong vocal and guitar skills, maintain a highly adaptable repertoire, and facilitate legacy projects when appropriate.
Navigate a fast-paced environment: Work independently across various medical facilities, manage time effectively, and handle schedule changes with ease and flexibility.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or Equivalency required; Master’s in Music Therapy preferred.
Licensure/Certification: MT-BC credential (or passing the CBMT exam before start date) required. Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT™) certification is preferred.
Professional Skills: Highly motivated self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills, and the clinical capacity to work comfortably in high-acuity and end-of-life environments.
Travel Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to consistently travel between patient service locations throughout the New Ulm and Mankato region.
