Summary
This position blends work aspects of the hospitality industry, which includes, but is not limited to: reception, appointment scheduling, customer service, retail cashiering, laundry, preparing spa services, and keeping the spa clean. Ability to efficiently prioritize tasks between spa and reception. Accurately track appointments, answer phones, take messages, as well as organize and file clinic-related forms. Includes opening and closing duties depending upon the shift worked. This position represents the school to the public community and is the first point of contact for our high volume client base. Therefore, professional appearance and respectful behavior are required for this role.
Qualifications
- HS diploma, GED certificate, or equivalent
- Previous experience (salary commensurate with degree of experience and skills)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Excellent hygiene and dress habits
- Good computer, typing, and multitasking skills
Duties
Job duties to include, but are not limited to:
- Portray a positive and friendly image to all people, as the receptionist sets the mood and spirit of the spa. Greet every guest and student upon arrival. Assist client and student with any questions.
- Answer phone within 3 rings and return missed calls promptly. Monitor and respond to client questions through booking software messenger feature. Contact clients who are late for appointments within 10 minutes of their missed appointment.
- Take messages for appropriate personnel and maintain accurate internal communication.
- Handle disgruntled guests with respect & kindness. Clear communication with your supervisor and document any situation that your supervisor or coworkers should be aware of.
- Monitor surveillance system, notify appropriate personnel of suspicious behavior, or in case of emergencies.
- Become knowledgeable with our Crystal Shop retail. Learn and be familiar with various crystals we sell and assist customers with purchasing crystal shop items.
- Maintain productivity between reception area and spa. Timely preparation of spa treatments. Laundry room is cleaned and organized regularly. Maintain a tidy reception area.
- Regularly refresh and spot clean restrooms and break room. Sweep and mop as needed. Restock paper goods such as towel paper dispensers and toilet paper.
- Wash glasses and stock water areas. Trash & recycling removal as needed.
- Notify the Spa Manager or Assistant Spa Manager of needed supplies and sundry items via inventory tracker.
- Develop proficiency with our booking software and become familiar with all spa menu items & descriptions. Stay up to date on all specials and promotions, both current and upcoming.
- Proper cash handling and register skills. Attention to detail to correctly take payments, apply specials, and maintain an accurate till.
- Unlock the building prior to class start for the opening shift, and lock at spa close for the closing shift.
- Read and sign off on weekly front desk updates as well as attend quarterly front desk meetings. Adhere to all policies and procedures as listed in the employee and front desk handbooks. Self directed with the ability to work independently without supervision.
- Additional special tasks as assigned by Spa Manager or Campus Director.

Wage increases may be considered based on annual performance reviews. Employees receive one free student massage per month for personal use and $10 off student massages for household family members.
