Duties
- Perform deep cleaning procedures on floors, carpets, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and hard-to-reach areas using floor buffers and other cleaning equipment.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following all chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence.
- Use custodial tools such as mops, vacuums, scrubbers, and pressure washers to thoroughly clean designated areas.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move furniture, equipment, or waste materials.
- Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, restrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces with appropriate cleaning agents.
- Execute industrial cleaning tasks including portering duties and facilities maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
- Assist with residential painting or minor maintenance projects as needed to support overall facility upkeep.
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience with a strong understanding of commercial or industrial cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and chemical dispensing tools.
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with clients or residents when required.
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
