Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Chiropractic Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative and clinical support within a busy chiropractic clinic. This role involves managing patient interactions, assisting with documentation, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing is highly valued. The Chiropractic Assistant will play a vital role in delivering quality patient care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage patient check-in and check-out processes using EMR systems such as Rapid, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures, including Medicare and other third-party payers
- Schedule appointments utilizing medical office management software like Rapid
- Collect payments and assist with medical billing and coding, including CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist clinicians with patient care plans, documentation review, and intake procedures
- Manage multi-line phone systems, answer patient inquiries, and provide excellent customer service
- File and organize medical records, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation workflow
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry, and office management duties
- Ensure clinic cleanliness and organization to promote a professional environment
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Rapid, ACOM, Chirotouch, Genesis, Dentrix, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
- Experience with health information management and documentation review processes
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes for Medicare and private insurers
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency (10-key typing)
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and data entry
- Prior clinic or medical office experience preferred; dental or hospital experience is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette and patient service orientation
- Ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor
