Job Overview

Duties
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans that incorporate applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management strategies, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Monitor and document client progress through detailed medical records, behavioral data collection, and electronic health records (EHR) management while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Support clients during intake assessments, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation processes.
- Use de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral crises effectively and ensure safety for clients and staff alike.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, clinicians, and educators to coordinate mental health and behavioral care services tailored to each individual’s needs.
- Provide client communication support by engaging with youth and adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), neurodevelopmental disorders, or disabilities to promote positive social interactions.
- Assist with special education activities and behavior intervention plans designed for clients with complex needs such as trauma histories or substance use disorders.
Skills
- Experience working with children, youth, or individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Knowledge of mental health conditions including PTSD and substance use disorders; experience providing addiction counseling is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, vital signs measurement, first aid/CPR certification, and crisis management techniques.
- Strong skills in de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention, and behavior management strategies to ensure safety during challenging situations.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), EMR/EHR systems, medical documentation practices, and maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
- Ability to collect accurate data for progress tracking and support behavior intervention plans effectively.
- Excellent client communication skills with an empathetic approach tailored to individuals’ unique needs; experience working with youth is highly valued.
