Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a positive and professional Onboarding Support Specialist to join our team within the Smoketree Tower building in Raleigh, NC. This is a full-time position offering 40 hours a week with the potential for overtime. This role is an excellent opportunity for a passionate, driven individual interested in furthering their career in payroll administration.

What it means to be a Onboarding Support Specialist at Headway :

The Onboarding Support Specialist will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the payroll department. You will support payroll administrators, managers, and employees through a variety of tasks related to organization and effective communication. You will communicate efficiently and effectively via phone and email. This position requires complete professionalism with a focus on customer support, confidentiality, and prompt response for all support issues. The Onboarding Support Specialist must have a strong understanding of compensation and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities of a Onboarding Support Specialist

  • Answer all customer inquiries in a knowledgeable and courteous manner
  • Resolve payroll inquiries or escalates issues to proper channels
  • Assist in preparation of payroll and onboarding documents
  • Maintain all confidential information in a safe format
  • Audit all timesheets for accuracy and inputs hours into the payroll system
  • Add all employee information changes, advances, salary updates, tax withholding documents, benefits deductions, direct deposit information.
  • Prepare and maintain all related payroll records and reports
  • Prepare and process I9s and E-Verify for corporate staff
  • All other job duties as assigned by management

  • High school diploma (required), Associate or Bachelor’s degree from a 4 –year college or university (preferred)
  • At least 1 year of payroll, administrative and / or HR generalist experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience preferred
  • Proven administrative or assistant experience
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook (Excel Proficiency Highly Preferred)
  • Knowledge or experience with other payroll systems
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to manage processes
  • Decision-making ability
