Responsibilities
Headwaters Hospice and Palliative Care is searching for a Chaplain with hospice experience to join our team. The Chaplain is a member of the interdisciplinary team and reports to the Director of Clinical Services.
Headwaters Hospice and Palliative Care is searching for a Chaplain with hospice experience to join our team. The Chaplain is a member of the interdisciplinary team and reports to the Director of Clinical Services.
- Providing direct spiritual support and/or counsel to patients/families.
- Working with staff, clergy and community groups to enhance the spiritual needs of patients/families.
- Providing consultation and education for patients/families and interdisciplinary team members.
- Providing bereavement follow-up services as defined by Hospice.
- Maintaining proper records of visits to patients/families.
Education/Experience
- Must be ordained or have ecclesiastical endorsement from the individual's denomination and have been approved to function in a pastoral capacity.
- Must have experience working with patients and families dealing with life threatening illness and/or death.
Qualifications
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate with various stakeholders.
- Must have excellent organization, and be able to multitask
- Must be able to function in a highly stressful environment
- Have a general understanding of hospice and home health services.
