2M Company Pump Builder - Phoenix, AZ

2M Company is looking for an experienced pump builder. They will be responsible for tearing down turbine bowl assemblies (submersible and vertical) when requested by customers. In addition, they will repair and replace components. Machinist also responsible for cutting/threading shafts, trimming impellers, and machining any other necessary components to build new pumps.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse and machinery
• Pull parts for orders following S.O.P. (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Learn procedures on how to build all pumps
• Assist in building pumps when necessary
• Tests pumps in established testing center
• Use forklift/pallet jacks to move materials, parts, finished product or load/unload trucks
• Conduct preventive maintenance before operating machinery
• Lift 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout an eight-hour workday
• Stand and work for extended periods of time during work hours
• Machine parts to specifications according to work orders, keeping within branch Q.C. requirements
• Responsible for maintaining and using precision measuring tools in accordance to shop requirements
• Interact with customers with a professional attitude
• Use table saw/skill saw to crate finished product for shipping purposes
• Perform other related duties as needed

• Good reading and writing skills
• Ability to conduct job duties with minimal supervision
• Able to read, understand, and calculate fractional dimensions (i.e. add/subtract fractions, fraction to decimal conversions)
• Ability to operate forklift/pallet jack within safety guidelines
• Able to communicate and work well with others
• Ability to use various hand and power tools
• Ability to consistently produce quality work
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
• Ability to apply problem solving techniques to moderately complex issues
