Job Purpose
- Acts as the liaison for customers and/or production departments. Ensures that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. Acts as a mentor and trainer for Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors.
- Program, train and implement CMM inspections.
- Prepare and submit PPAP's per company and/or customer requirements.
- Monitor and improve the quality of operational processes and outputs.
- Design quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions.
- Act as the Quality Assurance Representative for APQP and all related issues.
- Work in conjunction with customers, engineering, and production departments to resolve internal and customer issues.
- Oversees and champion all external and internal problem-solving teams.
- Serve as an associate member of the Material Review Board.
- Conduct off-site quality system surveys with the Purchasing Department of our suppliers and subcontractors. Ensures that follow-up corrective action is addressed, implemented and is effective.
- Submit and attain customer deviations as required.
- Audit internal quality systems and improves them as needed.
- Train and mentor Quality Engineers, Technicians and Inspectors.
- Prepares and submits monthly forecasts to the Quality Manager for any/all cost affiliated with the position.
- BS degree in technical discipline
- 4 years quality engineering exp
- 4 years with PPAP and APQP - launch activities a must (New product launch)
- 3 years CMM programming
- 2 years exp with GD&T-reading and interpreting prints
- Automotive experience
