Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards and support children's developmental milestones.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Assess and monitor children's progress through observation and documentation, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, promoting open communication and collaboration.
- Organize and participate in educational activities, including field trips, special events, and family engagement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and resourceful classroom space that supports children's learning and development.
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to early childhood education.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching practices and stay current with early childhood education trends.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures related to early childhood education.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or licensure in Early Childhood Education or willing to obtain.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the classroom and the community.
