Teacher - Preschool VPI

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Preschool Teacher at Head Start (TEAC). This full-time position involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting positive learning experiences and will work collaboratively with families and staff to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards and support children's developmental milestones.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Assess and monitor children's progress through observation and documentation, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, promoting open communication and collaboration.
• Organize and participate in educational activities, including field trips, special events, and family engagement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and resourceful classroom space that supports children's learning and development.
• Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to early childhood education.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching practices and stay current with early childhood education trends.
• Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures related to early childhood education.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or licensure in Early Childhood Education or willing to obtain.
• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
• Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the classroom and the community.
