What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Assistants/Teacher Aides position at Head Start of Rockland, Inc.?
Under the direction of the Head Teacher, the assistant will help with the creation of an appropriate environment and assist in providing / leading daily routine experiences and activities that foster the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. He / she will assist the head teacher in the daily classroom operations and in meeting HSOR school readiness goals. The assistant will lead the class during the teacher’s absence and follow guidelines as outlined in the Agency plans for ECE, NAEYC and the Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations.
Qualifications for Teacher Assistants:
Preschool CDA OR AA/BA in ECE OR AA/BA degree with ECE credits (18) OR AA/BA in any area. Plus preschool experience.
Qualifications for Teacher Aides:
Within one (1) year must have CDA or working toward 18 credits in ECE
GED / High School Diploma and experience
Full-time and Part-time positions are available. Salary is based on education and experience.
Excellent Benefits and follow school district calendar. Position is 10 months with summer program hours (optional)
