Summary
Board-Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery or
American Board of Surgery (or equivalent, as determined by the Medical Executive Committee, from time
to time). The head and neck surgeon provides surgical care for patients with oncological diseases and
disorders that affect the ears, nose, throat, the respiratory and upper alimentary systems and related
structures of the head and neck. Deals with the repair, reconstruction or replacement of physical defects
of form or function involving the skin, musculoskeletal system, craniomaxillofacial structures. They use
aesthetic surgical principles not only to improve undesirable qualities of normal structures but in all
reconstructive procedures as well. Surgeon possesses special knowledge and skill in the design and
surgery of grafts, flaps, and free-tissue transfer. Competence in the management of complex
wounds and tumor surgery is required.
Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center.
Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as member of the
academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and
cure of cancer. The position may span the clinical and research enterprise, and supports patient care,
research, and education. Respond to ENT/head and neck surgery consults and develop treatment plan, which may
include urgent/emergent surgery. This is a procedural position.
Education Requirements:
- MD/DO or equivalent
- Florida license eligible
- Completed Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology
- Board certified or Board eligible in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery
- ACLS as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff
- DEA License
