Job Summary
As a Resident Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. What you’ll do
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
- Monitor and document vital signs and health changes, ensuring timely communication with healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with any necessary medical equipment, including Hoyer lifts.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support residents with developmental disabilities or dementia.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in resident living spaces to promote a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for accurate documentation of resident care and progress.
- Drive residents to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Basic qualifications
- Experience in senior care or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices and emergency response procedures.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and dementia care techniques.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities or group homes.
- Background in social work or direct support roles is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
