Overview
HDA Business Services LLC, home of ATAX Atlantic City, is currently accepting applications for Seasonal Income Tax Preparers for the upcoming 2027 tax season. We welcome both experienced tax professionals and motivated individuals interested in entering the tax preparation industry. Previous experience is preferred but not required. Selected candidates will receive appropriate job-related training before beginning client preparation duties.
Responsibilities
- Interview clients to collect information needed to prepare individual income tax returns.
- Review tax documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify applicable deductions and tax credits.
- Prepare federal and state individual income tax returns using professional software.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of taxpayer information.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Follow established office procedures and IRS requirements.
- Work collaboratively with team members during tax season.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to learn new procedures and software.
- Dependability and professional conduct.
- Willingness to obtain an IRS PTIN before preparing returns for compensation.
- Previous tax preparation experience is a plus but not required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
Position Details
- Employment type: Seasonal, part-time
- Anticipated schedule: 12–30 hours per week, depending on business needs
- Compensation: $17 per hour
- Location: Atlantic City, New Jersey
- Employment opportunities are subject to business needs and candidate qualifications.
Interviews and candidate assessments will begin in October 2026. Seasonal employment is anticipated to begin in January 2027, based on business needs and candidate qualifications.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 30.0 per week
