About the Role:
The HR Intern will play a vital role in supporting the human resources department within a healthcare and social assistance setting, contributing to the smooth operation of HR functions. This position offers a comprehensive learning experience by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and administrative tasks that ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. The intern will collaborate closely with HR professionals to help maintain accurate employee records and support initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture. Through hands-on involvement, the intern will gain valuable insights into workforce management, talent acquisition, and employee engagement specific to the healthcare industry. Ultimately, this role aims to develop foundational HR skills while contributing meaningfully to the organization's mission of delivering quality care and support services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of human resources principles and practices.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in a healthcare or social assistance environment.
- Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS) or applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interview schedules.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and facilitating initial training sessions.
- Maintain and update employee records in compliance with healthcare industry regulations and organizational standards.
- Help organize employee engagement activities and support communication efforts to foster a positive work environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing HR documents, tracking attendance, and compiling reports for HR management.
