Role/Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Thermal Engineer with strong experience in electronic cooling system design, thermal modeling, and testing for electro-mechanical and consumer electronics products. The role focuses on design, simulation, optimization, and validation of thermal solutions using industry-standard CFD and thermal tools.
Key Responsibilities
Thermal Design & Analysis
- Design active and passive electronic cooling systems for hardware products.
- Perform thermal modeling and analysis to predict component and system temperatures
- Conduct thermal characterization studies and root-cause analysis of thermal issues
Simulation (CFD / Thermal)
- Build and run thermal & CFD models using tools such as ICEPAK, FloEFD, Flotherm
- Apply first-order thermal calculations to size and bound design problems
- Correlate simulation results with physical test data
- Design Optimization
- Drive design modifications to improve thermal performance, efficiency, and robustness
- Propose innovative and cost-effective thermal solutions
- Support mechanical and system design teams with thermal trade studies
Thermal Testing & Validation
- Plan and execute thermal testing (steady-state, transient, margin testing)
- Validate simulation models using experimental data
- Document results and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders
Required / Minimum Qualifications
- Education
- BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- 5 years of experience in thermal design and analysis
- Background in Servers & Storage or consumer electronics products
Core Skills
Electronic cooling system design (active & passive)
- Thermal modeling & CFD analysis
- ICEPAK, FloEFD, Flotherm XT
- Thermal measurements and testing
- First-order thermal calculations
CAD & Tools
- Working knowledge of Creo or SolidWorks
- Ability to interface CAD with thermal/CFD tools
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range Minimum: $34.61 per hour
Pay Range Maximum: $57.00 per hour

Compensation and Benefits
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
