Job Description
- 8 years as a data warehouse engineer or dba.
- 3 years of hands-on bigquery administration in production.
- Map teradata ddls and data types to bigquery-optimized partitioning and clustering schemas.
- refactor legacy teradata bteq scripts and sql logic into bigquery standard sql and stored procedures.
- optimize query performance and slot utilization to manage costs for migrated workloads.
- configure bigquery slot reservations and workload management to replicate teradata capacity.
- perform data validation, row-count reconciliations, and checksums between teradata and gcp.
- establish query guardrails and project-level quotas to manage spend during migration phases.
- strong sql performance tuning and query optimization skills.
- hands-on experience with Gcp services: bigquery, composer/airflow, dataflow, cloud storage, monitoring/logging.
- experience with edw platform migrations and enterprise-scale data engineering.
- strong knowledge of iam, security controls, networking basics, and DR strategies.
- experience with scripting (python/bash) and automation.
