Job Details: Principal Oracle PL/SQL Developer

Location :: Westlake, TX (Hybrid)

Mode :: W2 Only (No C2C/1099)

Top Skills:

• 5 TB of data (big data sets – plus, if anything wrong happens here, it’s a big deal. Qualified candidates must be used to dealing with large volumes of sensitive, critical data sets with low tolerance for error.)
• Data is coming from internal systems as an upstream from Oracle. We also have external data coming. Data moving all over the place in a lot of different directions.
• 8 years’ experience including hands-on experience with:

1) *Most Important Skill* Expertise with building and maintaining Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) or other data pipeline processes to move and integrate data from various sources into Oracle database.

2) For ETL, we use an in-house loader (confidential).

3) Strong RDBMS skills – SQL querying, writing stored procedures, triggers, functions, views, user privileges, object privileges, etc.

4) Performance tuning to existing or new Oracle SQL & PL/SQL queries

5 )Unix shell scripting

6) Some reporting tool experience

• AWS, Data Analytics and understanding and working more on large data sets

The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

Engineering Expertise:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information System, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 Years Related Technology Experience, financial industry experience a plus.
• Expertise with building and maintaining Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) or other data pipeline processes to move and integrate data from various sources into Oracle database.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL experience with specific database management systems (like Oracle, PostgreSQL), physical data modeling, and performance optimization techniques.
• Strong RDBMS skills – SQL querying, writing stored procedures, triggers, functions, views, user privileges, object privileges, etc.
• Proficient with performing applications database (Oracle) services including SQL code review, performance analysis, query tuning, database application design, development support & Engineering
• Deep proficiency with writing database code such as stored procedures, triggers, views, and complex queries to support application logic and ensure data integrity.
• Experience with analyzing data and user requirements to design effective solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud database services like Amazon RDS.
• Demonstrated expertise with critical thinking and decision-making skills. Ability to take up new challenges and explore new technology/tools.
• Strong data driven problem-solving abilities. Collaborate with cross squads to define, design, and ship high-quality software solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to optimally convey technical concepts.
