Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic supply chain team. In this role, you will play a vital part in streamlining procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and products. Your energetic approach will help optimize inventory levels, support production planning, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our supply chain operations. Responsibilities
· Experience in an administrative, clerical, customer service, or purchasing role.
· Strong basic math skills to calculate shipping costs, analyze vendor price differences, and resolve invoice discrepancies.
· Generate and track Pos for industrial parts based on incoming client sales orders.
· RFQs from multiple industrial vendors for the sales team.
· Capacity to learn inventory system like AS400.
· Comfort calling suppliers to receive status updates and hold vendors accountable.
Experience
- Experience working with ERP systems such as AS400 in a purchasing or materials management role is desired
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including procurement, sourcing, inventory management, logistics, and production planning
- Familiarity with materials management software and e-commerce platforms for procurement purposes
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and vendors
- Knowledge of contracts management and inventory control practices
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record keeping
- Prior experience supporting procurement activities within manufacturing or retail environments is preferred
