Responsibilities:
The Medical Technologist or Technician perform various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Following established laboratory techniques, the Medical Technologist obtains specimens from patients; records test results, and properly labels specimens.
Qualifications:
The Medical Technologist requires a bachelor’s degree with concentration in Science or Medical Technology and BLS certified. One year of clinical work experience, ASCP and drug and alcohol collection certificate are preferred. The Medical Laboratory Technician requires an associate degree or equivalent in Medical Technology or Science and BLS certification. One year of clinical work, ASCP and drug and alcohol collection certified are preferred.
