POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Neighborhood Network Program Coordinator
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: To assist with the responsibilities for the development, implementation and administration of the City of Hopkinsville’s Legacy Hopkinsville Program. The Christian County/Hopkinsville Development Corporation (LDC) has been granted direct oversight authority for the Legacy Hopkinsville Program and therefore acts in the capacity as contract administrator for the Neighborhood Network Program Coordinator. Community and Development Services provides direct oversight regarding daily activities of the Neighborhood Network Program Coordinator. This position is a part time contract position. The Neighborhood Network Program Coordinator will be responsible for obtaining a City of Hopkinsville Privilege license and required liability insurance.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Coordination of and communication with the Neighborhood Network Associations (NNAs) within the Legacy Hopkinsville boundaries. These responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting NNAs with the development and implementation of empowerment plans and partnership agreements in accordance with Ordinance 05-2006 and other legislation as adopted by Hopkinsville City Council.
- Attendance at all monthly Neighborhood Network Association meetings to provide guidance with regards to Robert’s Rules of Order.
- Preparation of “Need to Know” newsletters and informational packets regarding the operation of City and County government, community events and training opportunities.
- Conducting quarterly training workshops for Neighborhood Network Associations to keep them abreast of the Legacy Hopkinsville Program and any new initiatives developed or modifications under consideration.
- Assistance with the preparation of the Legacy Hopkinsville annual budget request.
- Attendance at monthly LDC meetings to provide reports on activities and initiatives undertaken by the Neighborhood Network Associations.
- Collection and review of monthly financial statements and meeting minutes of the Neighborhood Network Associations.
- Assistance to Neighborhood Network Associations with regards to required filings with the Kentucky Secretary of State and the IRS.
- Coordination for events and programming with local lending institutions, non-profit agencies and organizations, City of Hopkinsville departments and agencies, the Christian County/Hopkinsville Development Corporation will also be required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from college with a Bachelors degree in planning, social services, or other related field, or a high school degree supplemented by three years experience in planning, community development, or social services work.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of the objectives of community enhancement within the City of Hopkinsville; knowledge of research methods as applied to the collection, tabulation, computation, and presentation of data; ability to prepare narrative and graphic reports; ability to establish effective work relationships with others; general knowledge of office administration practices; excellent written and oral communication skills; good working knowledge of organization methods and managerial skills; high degree of professionalism; and a working knowledge of budgetary methods and procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Environment: Normal office setting. Continuous working inside an office environment. Occasional: Outdoor fieldwork. Current work schedule is on a 20-30 hours per week with monthly pay periods and unscheduled breaks. Attending meetings outside regular work hours is required. Work environment is professional, both team and autonomy oriented, having variable tasks and variable pace and pressure.
- Physical: Incumbents require sufficient mobility to work in an office setting and operate office equipment; continuous sitting; frequent downward flexion of neck, side-to-side turning of neck; fine finger dexterity and grasp to manipulate keyboard, telephone, writing instruments, papers, books, manuals, reports; occasional walking, standing, bending and stooping, climbing, reaching at and above shoulders, twisting at waist, upward flexion of neck, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 30 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to one block; infrequent squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling.
- Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read small print, computer screens and other printed documents.
- Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
