JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, perform basic clerical duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned:)
  1. Answer telephone, handling multiple lines
  2. Handle routine office inquiries
  3. Use word processing software
  4. Assist with on-campus registration
  5. Operate office equipment such as computers, copier, fax, typewriter, and calculator
  6. Refer students to appropriate person or department
  7. File correspondence and other records/documents
  8. Type correspondence and other documents from notes, copies, or rough drafts
  9. Provide support to other areas as needed
  10. Maintain inventory of office supplies, orders maintenance/repairs for office equipment
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED required

EXPERIENCE

1 year experience in an office environment preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Able to communicate courteously and effectively with staff and students with different academic and socio-economic backgrounds and disabilities.
  • Able to alphabetize.
