Job Summary And Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients
• You will be responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for Oncology/Medical Intermediate Care Unit and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
• You will be responsible for assessment of patient with telemetry monitoring.
• You will be responsible for drawing blood from venous lines.
• You will utilize special feeding tubes (gastronomy, jejunostomy, nasogastric).
• You will be responsible for administering and monitoring chemotherapy/biotherapy agents if credentialed.
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required
• BSN is required
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
• Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS Certification (American Heart Association) preferred
• ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certification within six months of hire with one year of experience
• ONCC Oncology Certified Nurse Certification recommended
• 2-years of clinical Med Surg experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting required- Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Oncology, Cancer, BMT, Bone Marrow Transplant, Chemo, Hematology
