Job Summary And Qualifications
This job description for Staffing Coordinator provides criteria for evaluation for the person working in the Staffing Coordinator position. The Staffing Coordinator coordinates centralized staffing for the Nursing Departments and provides clerical support for the Nurse Directors.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITY
E1. Coordinates 4-week staff schedule for the Nursing Departments.
E2. Inputs schedule in automated scheduling system.
E3. Updates information in the computerized staffing/scheduling system on an ongoing basis. (i.e., adds new employees, deletes employees, schedule changes).
E4. Collaborates with Nurse Directors to ensure that staffing needs are met.
E5. Coordinates the use of Personal Caregivers (PCG). Ensures that there is ongoing evaluation so that discontinuation of the PCG is accomplished when appropriate.
E6. Accurately completes daily staffing within appropriate timeframes. Utilizes acuity, census, matrix and department activity. Makes ever effort to staff nursing departments with CLRMC employees and minimizes use of contract labor and overtime, as appropriate.
E7. Maintains agency contracts; assists in maintaining daily agency files, ensuring paperwork is complete and up-to-date.
E8. Ensures that all agency nurse files contain all required information.
E9. Maintains current nursing staffing telephone lists for all nursing areas.
E10. Maintains documentation on employee absences.
E11. Types policies and procedures, as requested.
E12. Types unit meeting minutes and updates CQI manuals for nursing departments, if requested.
E13. Monitors status of employee health and education requirements. Reports delinquencies to Nurse Directors.
E14. Performs payroll edits and reconciles daily staffing sheets with master schedules, as requested.
E15. Provides thorough staffing report to oncoming staffing assistant.
E16. Processes midnight census in an accurate and timely manner, as applicable.
E17. Forwards Event Information Report to Risk Management, as requested.
E18. Schedules meeting rooms, as needed.
E19. Assists in the distribution of paychecks.
E20. Performs other duties, as requested.

What qualifications you will need:
- One or more years’ clerical experience in a health-care environment.
- College or business training preferred.
- High School Graduate / GED
