Job Summary and Qualifications
Performs EKG monitoring duties on the nursing unit under the direct supervision of licensed caregivers.Achieves professional goals set during previous evaluation period
- Monitoring Skills- able to interpret normal and abnormal rhythms, able to recognize artifact
- Monitoring Skills: demonstrates knowledge of lead functions and application
- Ensures accurate maintenance of EKG rhythm documentation on patients’ medical records according to department standards.
- Monitoring Skills- Sets alarm parameters every shift, upon return from off unit and as needed.
- Understands and follows chain of command
- Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
- Maintains the telemetry equipment
- Participates in hospital and unit Performance Improvement
- Documentation- maintains logs per policy
