Job Summary And Qualifications
The Unit Secretary for the Spine and Total Joint Center performs clerical and receptionist duties in accordance with the mission and values of Sky Ridge Medical Center. The unit secretary is responsible for greeting visitors at the control desk; answering telephones; scheduling add-on cases under the direction of the charge RN, maintaining clerical supplies and forms, and completing duties required for the daily operation of the unit. The waiting room unit secretary assists the Charge RN, Service CNCs, Manager and Director with day-to-day duties and responsibilities as assigned. The unit secretary participates in department performance improvement initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

- Greeting and guiding patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, offering updates, and ensuring they feel informed and supported
- Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information
- Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected
- Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort
- Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
