Job Summary And Qualifications
Safely transports patients to and from various units in the hospital as directed, using patient transport equipment and safe patient management tools/materials including, but not limited to, wheelchairs, stretchers, slide boards, etc. Demonstrates proper body mechanics. Positively reflects concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, physicians, and other hospital personnel supporting the Mission, Vision, and Values of Rose Medical Center. Is able to provide care to assigned patients and assures a safe patient care environment. Maintains technical skills, competencies, complies with the Staff Expectations, and is responsible for the use of equipment to minimize hazards and maximize patient safety. Performs any additional duties assigned by the Transport Supervisor. Adheres to the Rose Medical Center iCARE Standards at all times.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1 year of transport experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Exhibits Compassion: Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs and concerns of others and to treat others with the utmost respect, dignity, courtesy, and confidentiality. Communicates Effectively: Ability to deliver verbal and written information in a clear, concise manner to ensure comprehension and achieve desired results. Prioritizes Tasks: Ability to shift attention between multiple activities and competing demands, and to manipulate the order of tasks by importance. Demonstrates Professionalism: Ability to take personal responsibility for job action and performance, comprehend and perform job responsibilities, and adhere to the policies and procedure of the facility. Embraces Learning: Ability to actively learn and follow instructions, policies, and procedures in a timely fashion, including the ability to learn new techniques or procedures without incurring overwhelming stress. Must be capable of applying knowledge, skills, and abilities to all age patients.
