Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision of Admin Services leadership, the Guest Services Specialist will:

Provides excellent customer service by communicating directions to appropriate area and answering inquiries both verbal and in person. Exhibits department and hospital image by greeting guests in a courteous manner, following established standards. Monitors guest access by following established procedure to provide accurate information/directions. Protects patient, department and hospital by maintaining confidentiality according to established policy. Enhances public perception of the department and hospital by projecting a positive image of the hospital to the public. Anticipates and meets patient and family member’s needs with consistency and compassion. Improves communications flow by determining purpose of telephone inquiries and when needed, forwarding calls to the appropriate resource. Follows established departmental procedures to ensure caller satisfaction by answering internal/external telephone inquiries in a friendly and courteous manner. Utilizes patient locator software to locate patient information. Ensures safety for patients and the department by contacting security when necessary according to established policy. Complies with department procedures of protecting resources by notifying building maintenance when necessary. Verbalizes and demonstrates proper procedures for infection control including cleaning and disinfecting of common areas as needed. Promotes an organized and safe work environment by maintaining a clean and clutter-free work area at all times. Provides input during shift handoff and as needed to team members regarding patient, family and guest interactions and interventions. Attends all mandatory training as assigned as well as regular department meetings.
