Job Summary And Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• You will assess, reassess, develop, and implement the Infection Control/Employee Health Plan in accordance with regulatory agencies and all federal and state requirements.
• You will assess employees and their environment for injury, illness, and risk then implement appropriate safety precautions and follow up procedures.
• You will assess patients for risk of transmission or exposure to infection and you will implement appropriate safety precautions and follow up procedures.
• Utilizing and integrating all available pertinent data in developing Infection Control/Employee Health Plan you will help meets the needs of all customers.
• You will interpret data to determine when patients or employees are at acute risk for infection and takes appropriate measures including notifying physician and/or Department Director.
• You will prioritize patient/health care worker’s needs based on assessment/reassessment findings relating to the prevention or spread of disease.
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• RN diploma or Associates Degree Nursing or Medical Technology required.
• Current Florida State RN license or Medical Technologist required. Candidates with a Master’s in Public Health are not required to be licensed.
• Certification in Infection Control preferred at time of hire; required to obtain Certification in Infection Control (CIC) within 2 years grace period of hire date.
• Two years previous experience in Infection Prevention preferred OR 3-5 years clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse or medical technologist in Microbiology, Public Health or Epidemiology.
