Position Summary:
The Hospital Safety & Emergency Management Officer is responsible for overseeing emergency preparedness, security operations, and incident response within the facility. This role requires prior experience in security or law enforcement and plays a critical leadership role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and secure hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
This position works closely with the Director of Facilities Management and Administration and provides operational direction for emergency management activities and the security team.

Position Summary:
The Hospital Safety & Emergency Management Officer is responsible for overseeing emergency preparedness, security operations, and incident response within the facility. This role requires prior experience in security or law enforcement and plays a critical leadership role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and secure hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
This position works closely with the Director of Facilities Management and Administration and provides operational direction for emergency management activities and the security team.
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Some evenings and weekends as required
- Lead and coordinate the facility’s Emergency Management Program
- Supervise and support the Security Team
- Respond to and manage safety and security incidents, including:
- Code Greys
- Slip and falls
- Security threats
- Fire alarms, drills, and evacuations
- Ensure readiness and compliance with emergency response plans
- Conduct and oversee fire drills and emergency preparedness training
- Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports
- Collaborate directly with Facilities Management and Administration leadership
- Serve as a primary point of contact during emergencies and critical incidents
- Ensure hospital safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are followed
- Prior experience as a Police Officer or Security Professional
- Associate's Degree required
- Strong understanding of emergency response and incident management
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- Experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting
- Knowledge of emergency management standards and healthcare safety protocols
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or extended hours as needed
