The Trauma Step Down/Progressive Care (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the Trauma PCU RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The Trauma PCU RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

Job Summary And Qualifications

What you will do in this role:
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
- Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
- Hospital sponsored opportunity to obtain the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification
- Hospital sponsored opportunity to obtain the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certifications Board (MSNCB) - FailSafe Certification Program for CMSRN exam or other relevant Certifications with monetary incentives
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is required - ok to be obtained within 30 days of transfer/hire
- At least 6 months previous RN work experience required
