Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and diagnostic services. We also offer inpatient, and outpatient surgical services.
Lawnwood Hospital is a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited. We are a Level II Trauma Center. We are verified by the American College of Surgeons. We offer a freestanding ER in Vero Beach. We provide emergency treatment for adults and children. Job Summary And Qualifications
A Radiology Technician (Radiologic Technologist) performs diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays, using ionizing radiation while ensuring patient safety (ALARA standards).
Key Responsibilities
- Imaging & Procedures: Perform X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other diagnostic images while applying ionizing radiation safety protocols (ALARA).
- Patient Care: Prepare, transfer, and position patients, ensuring modesty and comfort.
- Equipment Management :Operate, calibrate, and maintain imaging equipment, including Computed Radiology (CR) units and ensuring proper shielding.
- Technical Proficiency: Select appropriate exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Documentation: Accurately update patient records and clinical history in systems like MEDITECH.
- This position will transition to a Nights role
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Min 1 year exp required
- Certification: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Licensure: State-specific license (e.g., Florida Department of Health CRT licensure).
- Basic Life Support (BLS):American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- Must be able to assist in lifting and transferring patients.
- May require working evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
