Job Summary And Qualifications
The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) participates in high-quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high risk patients. In collaboration with the patient care team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. The PSA may also assist with basic activities of daily living.

Our services include trauma, burn, surgical, women’s and children’s services, behavioral health and diagnostic services. We have two full service free-standing ER facilities. HCA Florida Kendall Hospital has received the Distinguished Hospital Award for Overall Clinical Excellence from HealthGrades. This national recognition places us in the top 5% of hospitals for overall clinical quality. We are a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center certified by the Florida Department of Health. Your responsibilities will include:
- Watching patients with continuous focus to ensure their safety and well-being
- Identifying risks such as falls or self-harm and promptly alerting the care team to intervene quickly and protect patients
- Documenting patient activity and changes with accuracy and clarity throughout your shift
- Honoring patient privacy by safeguarding confidential information at all times
- Collaborating closely with the healthcare team to foster a culture of compassion, respect, and teamwork
- High School Graduate/GED
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
