Job Summary And Qualifications

In this role you will:

• Demonstrate clinical knowledge of psychiatric nursing and maintain the highest quality of comprehensive patient care.
• Responds to all calls for psychiatry services responding appropriately to the identified needs of the caller and patient. Patient calls will be prioritized based on the level of needofthe patient.InsureEMTALA complianceat all timesandreportsany concerns to the program directorimmediately.
• Coordinate communication related to all assessment and admission activities,insurerapid throughput for the emergency department, requestadditionalresources when needed based on volume, and work with the medical staff to move patients to disposition quickly.
• Respond to calls for assessments in the emergency department within 15 minutes andinitiatethe requested assessment as soon as possible and no later than 60 minutes from theinitialrequest. Implement a backup procedure when the60 minutetime framecannot be met due to heavy volume.
• Work with inpatient nursing staff toinsurean appropriate bedis available for patients cominginincluding moving patients as needed to make beds available quickly.
• Be responsible to provide education and support related to emergency detention procedures, intervention as needed, completion of paperwork, and addressing process concerns with the emergency department director and medical staff toinsurecompliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Work collaboratively with behavioral health sales team to provide data, assure accurate referral data management, and include sales team members in team meetings as needed.
  
  

Job Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Nursingor Diploma in Nursingrequired
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursingpreferred
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN licenserequired.Compact license holders have60 daysto obtain the Florida licenseafter relocation.
• BLS-AHAProvider issued cardrequiredwithin30 daysof start
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certificationrequired
• Prefer 1-3 years’ experience in a behavioral healthcare setting performing clinical assessments
