We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Mammography Technician to perform routine preventative and diagnostic mammographic procedures including stereotactic, ABBI and breast needle localization procedures. We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. We have received verification by the American College of Surgeons. As a Mammographer, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform mammography/radiology studies in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner obtaining high-quality images ready for interpretation
- Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated
- Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
- Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with necessary supplies
- Graduate of a 24-month Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved institution
- Valid ARRT (R) and ARRT (M)
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to mammography
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of recent experience as a Mammography Technician preferred
- Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
