Job Summary And Qualifications

Lead Interventional Radiology Technologist

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Lead role on a full-time basis. You will operate medical diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in imaging procedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization, as well as those performed in the Interventional Radiology (IR) Lab (scrubbing, circulating, and recording/monitoring patient status).

Please note our facility is a Level II Trauma Center which requires availability for rotating call assignments.

Your tasks and responsibilities as a Lead Interventional Radiology Technologist (Lead IR Tech) include but are not limited to:

• Possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures
• Responsible for the assignment of and effective scheduling of staff and coordination of departmental operations in ensuring quality patient care
• Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated
• Assure only optimal images are submitted for interpretation
• Select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patient and assist in administration of contrast media when indicated
• Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment
• Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
• Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
• Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies
• Responsible for rotating call assignments
  
  

Qualifications

• Completion of a 24-month program at an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology school
• Three (3) to five (5) years previous Radiology Technologist experience
• Valid ARRT (R)
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire if not currently held
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
