Director of Recreation
Director of Recreation Job Description:
A skilled nursing facility is seeking a Director of Recreation to join their team.
Director of Recreation Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Manage activities department staff, assign activities/tasks/deliveries/programs etc.
- Working with corporate guidelines to develop, plan, and implement monthly calendar of recreational programs and activities and plan special events based on the individual needs of residents
- Set up/break down and lead therapeutic activities to help residents with physical, mental, or psychosocial needs
- Document/track resident attendance during activities and resident council
- Review activity assessments for residents
- Organize & obtain department supplies
- Create department staff schedule and track & approve staff pto requests
- Assist in staff and resident birthday celebrations
- Involved in employee engagement activities.
Director of Recreation Qualifications:
- Must have LTC or skilled nursing facility experience (REQUIRED)
- Experience in care planning, MDS and overall program management (preferred)
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Director of Recreation 2 years experience (preferred)
- Musical talent is a plus!
Salary: UP TO $70,000 a year
