Quality Control Lab Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced QC Lab Technician to join our team and contribute to this mission.

The Lab Technician is responsible for laboratory cleaning and upkeep, including development, pilot, and storage areas. In addition, this position will assemble, disassemble, and clean equipment, preparing samples for in-house and third party testing, and is responsible for equipment calibration. This position will also help manage inventory and coordinate storage of raw materials and finished product. They will also support the department by providing assistance on projects as needed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for laboratory cleaning, upkeep, organization, and day-to-day maintenance. Ensure lab complies with GMP guidelines and SOPs.
• Accurately documents activities in laboratory notebooks or approved forms following associated Test Methods and Standard Operating Procedures as appropriate.
• Manage ingredients and lab supply inventory and storage. Support team by requesting raw materials, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory of raw materials and samples.
• Organize and maintain reagent, raw material, sample, finished product, packaging component and retain sample storage.
• Perform routine set up, verification, calibration, operation, disassembly, cleaning, and sanitization of laboratory equipment and glassware.
• Coordinate samples for internal and external analysis, preparing shipments for external analysis.
• Coordinate outside service of equipment maintenance as needed.
• Support team on pilot production and scale-up activities. This may include observation, sample collection, sample testing, data collection, and other tasks as needed.
• Support department on miscellaneous lab activities, including sample shipment, testing such as physical, chemical or organoleptic testing (e.g. taste, appearance, odor, etc.), data collection, batch manufacture, and other tasks as needed.
• Properly disposes of chemical completed necessary forms as applicable.
• Look for innovative and time saving ideas to improve functionality and time management in the lab.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education / Experience / Certifications:

• High school degree required; post secondary education preferred in a science related study.
• Experience working independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a laboratory or environmental testing setting is preferred, but not required.

Skills Required:

• Strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, independent worker.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate, legible and complete documentation.
• Computer proficiency and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 25-50 pounds.
