Job Summary
The Farm Hand/Packer will be responsible for day-to-day responsibilities on the poultry farm where we harvest eggs from organic pasture raised hens.
Responsibilities
- Walking the barns 2 – 3 times a day
- Removing mortality birds
- Picking up the barn floor (egg harvesting)
- Operating an automated packing system
- Recording daily water, feed and mortality numbers
- General ground maintenance
- Monitoring Flock Health daily
- General maintenance of barns, belts, lighting, manure scrapers, fans, exhaust systems
- General housekeeping and cleanliness of barns and surrounding areas
- Feed Ordering and Management
Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years’ work experience in the farming/poultry industry.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in various environments and weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to log and document daily required recordings
- Scheduling flexibility
- Strong communication skills.
Working Conditions
- Outside/Indoor Environment
- Must be able to work in diverse weather conditions
- Must be able to work with farm equipment and animals
- Must be willing to work in the hot and cold conditions, as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
