Mechanical Technical Assistant

Please note: This role requires a hands-on technical background and is specifically designed for candidates without a bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering.

Position: Mechanical Technical Assistant

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Pay: $30 – $35/hour

Experience: 1 to 3 years of electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation technician experience is beneficial.

Education: Technical or trade school certification preferred. Higher education in engineering will not be considered for this role.

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

HB Staffing is seeking a Mechanical Technical Assistant to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Assist project engineers with design steps, documentation, and technical tasks.
• Review calculations, drawings, IO lists, and bills of materials for accuracy.
• Research parts, create spreadsheets, and analyze data for discrepancies.
• Assemble and review technical submittal documents and spare parts lists.
• Support preparation and completion of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) books.
• Coordinate with internal departments and vendors as needed.
• Prepare technical reports and follow established procedures.
• Learn company products and processes to support ongoing engineering activities.
  
  

Position Requirements:

• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Windows OS.
• Ability to read electro-pneumatic-mechanical design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate well in project team environments.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
