HB NEXT is seeking a National Account Manager (NAM) to build and grow relationships with national and regional homebuilders across multiple U.S. markets. This high-impact role focuses on delivering NPDES/SWPPP, safety, and compliance solutions—including inspections, consulting, training, and software—to help homebuilders meet regulatory requirements and improve jobsite performance.
As a trusted partner to builder clients, you’ll manage multi-market accounts, lead pricing and proposals, and collaborate closely with our operations and compliance teams to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery. You’ll also represent HB NEXT at builder meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Strategic Account Management
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for assigned national and regional builder clients.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand business with existing clients and secure new national partnerships.
- Lead account planning, pricing, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate multi-market relationships across builder divisions to ensure consistency in goals and service standards.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and reporting on account performance, growth opportunities, and potential risks.
2. Sales & Business Development
- Meet or exceed assigned revenue, margin, and account growth targets.
- Promote HB NEXT’s full suite of compliance and safety services—including SWPPP management, safety inspections, training programs, and proprietary software platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing and leadership to develop go-to-market strategies for the national homebuilding sector.
3. Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key decision-makers at national builder corporate and divisional levels (operations, purchasing, construction, and compliance).
- Conduct regular business reviews, compliance assessments, and performance evaluations with client stakeholders.
- Ensure seamless service delivery and issue resolution by coordinating with regional and field teams.
- Build trusted advisor relationships through expertise in stormwater, environmental compliance, and construction safety practices.
4. Internal Collaboration
- Partner with operations, environmental, and technology teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Collaborate with regional managers to maintain performance standards, service quality, and contract compliance.
- Provide feedback to product and service development teams to enhance offerings based on client needs and industry trends.
5. Industry Knowledge & Representation
- Maintain a strong understanding of EPA, state, and local regulations impacting stormwater and construction site safety compliance.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity within the homebuilding sector.
- Represent HB NEXT at national builder meetings, trade shows, and professional associations (NAHB, HBAs, etc.).
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Construction Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–10 years of sales, business development, or account management experience within homebuilding, construction services, or environmental compliance.
- Proven success managing national or multi-market builder accounts.
- Experience selling technical or regulatory compliance services and software solutions.
- Familiarity with stormwater (SWPPP) and construction safety regulations preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and executive communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to simplify and communicate complex compliance concepts in a business context.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% nationally.
