What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Process Technician 3rd Shift position at HB Molding?
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Process Technician to join our 3rd Shift manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in a production environment, with a strong background in mold setup, process troubleshooting, and robotics/automation systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety in our daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues to ensure optimal machine and product performance.
- Identify and correct mold defects, determining root causes related to tooling or processing.
- Set up and remove molds and ensure proper documentation and first-piece inspections.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on machines, including greasing, cleaning, and oiling.
- Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot robots and automation equipment (e.g., sprue pickers, conveyors, pick-and-place systems).
- Accurately enter setup data and maintain documentation for production runs.
- Monitor and maintain consistent cycle times and process parameters.
- Operate production machinery when needed.
- Provide leadership support in the absence of the supervisor.
- Mentor and assist machine operators, especially in the use of automation.
- Support company initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or molding environment.
- Valid Forklift Certification (required).
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
- Familiarity with mold changeovers and basic machine troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with robotics and automated systems in a production setting.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels; PPE such as hearing protection may be required.
- Must be available to work overtime and weekends as production demands require.
